Our time in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, was shaped by the rhythms of family travel—balancing energetic hikes with quiet moments over coffee and the occasional good book. This wasn’t about rushing to check off sights, but about settling into the natural pace of the place.
Walking and Hiking in Nature
La Fortuna offers trails that invite you to move at your own speed. We found that walking through the lush landscape, surrounded by the sounds of wildlife and the occasional distant waterfall, was a grounding experience. It’s the kind of place where even a short walk can feel like a small adventure.
Simple Pleasures and Practical Travel
Between hikes, we enjoyed local coffee and tea, taking time to savor the flavors and the calm. These moments often became the backdrop for sharing stories from the day or planning the next outing. Traveling with family means adapting plans as you go, and La Fortuna’s easy access to nature made that flexibility feel natural.
Memory and Reflection
Looking back, it’s the small details that stand out: the way the morning light hit the leaves, the laughter on a trail, the quiet pause before a meal. These are the memories that linger, reminding us that travel is as much about presence as it is about place.
Our photos capture some of these moments—not posed or polished, but real slices of our days in La Fortuna.
